Well, even though some days it may seem Spring is here, there are days like today were the sun just wants to hide. So to keep us in the spirit, I've been researching new products and looking at having a new shop layout. I am so so so ready for Spring and Summer. I am VERY excited about having some new wholesalers on board and about all the fairs starting again. Can not wait to get out and about and find some unusual and quirky finds!!

We are so excited and over the moon to announce that we are in Aprils issue of Vogue! Our all time favourite magazine, bible! I can't believe that after a year we have been so successful. I'm so pleased to have got this far and that the shop is doing so well. After such a great year in the shop, meeting new people, customers and friends. This is the icing on the cake, so so excited! Let the future commence, can't wait to see what happens next... Wow! Today we have been open a whole year! I cannot believe how quick the year has gone. I'm so honoured and privilege to have been doing the job I love and meeting so many lovely people, from customers to trade workers to stockists to other shop owners. I want to say a massive thank to all those people that have supported me, and continued to shop with us. Especially my family, friends and customers. Can't wait to find new traders, meet new people, new customers and build new relationships. Excited for the next year :) Thank you all Xxx Not sure whether having a traditional tearoom next door is a good thing or not. The homemade soups, yummy hot chocolates and doorwedge slices of cake are so hard to say no to. But life is too short to ban myself from these great tasting foods, so alittle won't hurt. Today I treated myself to a slice of Twix Chocolate Cake, homemade by the girls at Mrs Salisbury's Famous Tearooms. What will you treat yourself to when you come in? xx I am in love with these gorgeous jersey and cotton crochet bowls my talented mum has made for the shop! These have been selling like hot cakes. Can't get her to make enough. Perfect for storaging jewellery in by your bedside cabinet, cotton balls in the bathroom or even keys by the front door. I've got one on my coffee table for my hand cream and nail file, nothing will ever go missing again :) Well...here is also something new, we got a puppy!! Well, he's just over a year now but we adopted him in the summer, but I still call him my puppy. His name is Henry and he is a Sharpei. I love him not only because he is Grey and Ruffley (see what I did there, wrinkles=ruffle) but he makes me smile and he has such a funny little character. He is costing us a fortune already, not only with vet bills, but with us spoiling him rotten! He is our little baby boy of course.
I also wanted to mention that the talented Ros Shiers who's wonderful prints, wrapping paper and cards I currently stock, seen a picture of Henry and wanted to add him to her collection! Me and Henry was so very honoured! So we will soon be stocking this print in the shop :) Everyone can expect a greetings card for Birthdays, Christmas etc with his little wrinkly face on, hehe. xx So, ok, first of all I would like to apologise for not being a very good blogger and keeping you updated with whats been going on with GreyRuffle. Well Autumn/Winter was a very busy few months indeed!! With lots of stock hunting and lots of customer orders! All was go, go, go and we all had a fantastic Christmas! I have been out and about at lots of shows, finding a load of inspirations and new wholesalers to bring you some exciting new stock. Most recently going to TopDraw at Olympia in London. One of the best shows I have been to, with lots and lots of new ideas! Obviously my main passion is to bring gorgeous, unique and unusual pieces for your home and gifts for your fabulous loved ones. But I will be in the future be looking at more gifts including clothing, jewellery and toiletries. Watch this space... Again I apologise for not keeping you in the loop, so I promise to keep you informed with all things new, including inspiration, hunts, making, creating, display, news and anything else I can think of. xx Wow, summer is over and Autumn is here! Feel bad for saying it but I cannot wait for Winter and am so happy Autumn is here! I love the colours, the warmth, layering, cosying up to some hot chocolate by the fire! Guilty...for wishing summer away! I have been thinking about christmas for the past few months now and have been getting soooooo exciting! Searching for gorgeous vintage and antique finds, to get everyone in the christmas spirit and remind you of your childhood memories! Ordering lots of yummy cinnamon to smell the shop out, candles, candle holders, sledges, skates, furs, throws, all those yummy cosy things that remind us of christmas! Even some German Nutcrackers! But sshhh...I don't want to give too much away! First is HALLLOOOWEEENN! This also gets me exciting, lots of pumpkins and yummy homemade soups! Will keep you posted with my Halloween displays and the yummy soups from Mrs Salisbury's tea room! We know what I will be living off this autumn! YUM! xx |
